In 2023, there was a death rate of 21.0 per 100,000 Wythe County residents due to opioid overdose. Many people in Rural Retreat and across Wythe County are living with the challenges of opioid use disorder (OUD).
At ReVIDA® Recovery, we recognize the importance of standing with you and your community as you take steps toward healing. Our Rural Retreat medication assisted treatment (MAT) team’s mission is to provide compassionate, evidence-based medication-assisted treatment close to home.
If you’re ready to begin or continue your recovery journey, we’re here to support you. No matter where you are on your path, you’ll find care, guidance, and encouragement designed to help you move forward.
Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) Around Rural Retreat
For a lot of people working through OUD, MAT can make the road to recovery feel more doable. MAT brings together approved medications, counseling, and therapy. This mix helps take the edge off withdrawal and keeps cravings from taking over, so you can focus more on your recovery.
One of the main medications used is buprenorphine. It works differently from opioids you may be used to. Instead of creating a strong high, it only partially activates the same brain receptors. That means it helps your body feel steady and eases withdrawal, but in a much safer and more controlled way.
What’s especially helpful about buprenorphine is something called the “ceiling effect.” After a certain point, taking more doesn’t increase its impact. This makes it much safer and lowers the chance of misuse.
Another benefit is that buprenorphine blocks other opioids from attaching to your brain’s receptors. So even if you slip, you’re far less likely to feel the high. That extra layer of protection can make a big difference as you keep moving forward in recovery.
Our Opioid Addiction Treatment Programs
ReVIDA® Recovery is an outpatient MAT clinic, which means we provide medication as well as other behavioral health services to support long-term recovery.
Suboxone or Sublocade Treatment
In Rural Retreat and across Wythe County, treatment options like Suboxone and Sublocade are available to support your recovery and help you build a healthier, more balanced life.
Suboxone treatment involves a daily medication that combines buprenorphine and naloxone. Under the guidance of a Suboxone doctor, it helps ease withdrawal symptoms and reduce cravings so you can focus on healing.
For those who prefer a longer-lasting approach, Sublocade treatment provides the same active ingredient in a monthly injection. This option offers steady support without the need for daily doses.
At ReVIDA® Recovery near Rural Retreat, these medications are paired with counseling and compassionate care. Treatment is designed to strengthen recovery on every level—body, mind, and spirit. With the right tools and support, taking the next step toward recovery is possible.
Outpatient (OP) Treatment
Flexibility is a vital part of making treatment accessible, especially when work, family, and transportation can feel overwhelming. At ReVIDA® Recovery near Rural Retreat, we understand that recovery has to fit into real life. That’s why our outpatient program is designed to support your schedule instead of interrupting it.
Services include individual counseling, group therapy, and family sessions, giving you care that addresses recovery from every angle while allowing you to keep up with daily responsibilities. From the beginning, a care coordinator works with you to build a schedule that matches your needs, whether that means mornings, afternoons, or evenings.
Telehealth services are also available, offering added convenience so treatment can continue even when getting to the clinic isn’t possible.
At ReVIDA® Recovery near Rural Retreat, flexibility helps break down barriers to care, making it easier to stay engaged, consistent, and focused on long-term recovery.
Telehealth Services
At ReVIDA® Recovery, we understand that living in Appalachia can bring unique challenges, especially when transportation makes it harder to get consistent care. That’s why telehealth services are available to help you access recovery support for OUD without added barriers.
Before starting telehealth, you’ll first complete an in-person intake. During that visit, you’ll meet with a Suboxone physician, therapists, and care coordinators who will work with you to build a treatment plan that fits your needs and goals.
After your intake, you can join therapy sessions virtually. This may include one-on-one counseling, group therapy, or peer programs like 12-step meetings, where you’ll have the chance to connect with others who understand your journey.
You’ll also check in with care coordinators through telehealth. They’ll support you by linking you to important resources, such as employment and job skills programs, educational opportunities, housing or food assistance, and even transportation help.
Addictions We Treat Near Rural Retreat

Opioid addiction can develop quickly and often unexpectedly, but recovery is always possible. At ReVIDA®, our experienced and caring team is here to walk alongside you, offering personalized treatment, guidance, and encouragement as you work toward lasting healing.

Fentanyl Addiction
Fentanyl is a very strong opioid that’s showing up more and more, often mixed into other drugs without people knowing. That makes it easy to accidentally overdose, and once dependence sets in, trying to quit on your own can feel overwhelming and even unsafe.
At ReVIDA® Recovery, we’re here to help. Our fentanyl addiction program is built to meet you where you are, with flexible outpatient options and care that’s tailored to your needs. Whether it’s your first time seeking treatment or you’re coming back for support, we’ll help you take the first steps toward recovery safely and with confidence.
Heroin Addiction
Heroin is an illicit opioid that can quickly take over your life, affecting your health, relationships, and overall well-being. At ReVIDA® Recovery, we’re here to help you reclaim control and address both the physical and emotional challenges of heroin addiction.
Through a tailored combination of medication-assisted treatment (MAT) and therapy, we give you the guidance, support, and tools needed to start healing. As you progress, we’ll help you reconnect with your goals and work toward a future grounded in strength, purpose, and lasting wellness.
Oxycodone Addiction
Dependence on OxyContin® (oxycodone) can develop quietly, often starting with a prescription meant to relieve pain. Over time, what once helped manage discomfort can turn into a cycle of dependence that feels hard to break. At ReVIDA® Recovery, we know how overwhelming this can be, and we’re here to walk alongside you through every step.
Our treatment for oxycodone addiction combines medication-assisted treatment (MAT) with personalized therapy. This approach eases withdrawal symptoms while also addressing the emotional and psychological reasons behind your use. With flexible scheduling and a supportive care team, you’ll gain the tools to regain control, rebuild your life, and move forward with confidence.
Vicodin Addiction
In many cases, Vicodin addiction starts from a prescription intended to relieve short-term pain. What once provided comfort can gradually turn into dependence, leaving you feeling stuck and uncertain about how to break free. At ReVIDA® Recovery, we understand how this can happen and are here to help.
Our outpatient program for Vicodin addiction is designed to support your recovery while letting you keep up with daily responsibilities. By combining MAT with personalized therapy, we address both the physical dependence and the emotional patterns behind Vicodin use. With a flexible, tailored care plan, you’ll gain the support and tools needed to create lasting, substance-free change.
