NASHVILLE, Tenn. – ReVIDA Recovery® Centers CEO Lee Dilworth today announced a new partnership with Franklin-based 180 Health Partners, a hybrid care provider whose collaborate, relationship-based care model helps opioid-exposed expecting mothers change their life trajectory and deliver healthy babies.

According to the Tennessee Department of Health, Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome (NAS) “is a condition in which an infant undergoes withdrawal from a substance in which he or she was exposed to in-utero.” In 2017, the Tennessee Department of Health recorded 1,090 cases of NAS. However, Tennessee experienced the first decrease of children born with NAS in 2018 after a 5-year rise.

Through this partnership, ReVIDA and 180 Health Partners will coordinate care for expectant mothers at all seven ReVIDA locations in east Tennessee and southwest Virginia. While ReVIDA physicians and counselors will work with patients at their facilities, 180 Health Partners will build relationships through its StrongWell approach to care for substance-exposed mothers. StrongWell delivers structured prenatal care as it supports mothers on their path to recovery by reducing the risk or decreasing the severity of of NAS, and helping them reclaim their lives and the lives of their children-to-be from opioid use disorder. ReVIDA and 180 Health Partners have already implemented the partnership at three of ReVIDA’s Tennessee locations in Johnson City, Knoxville, and Newport.

“It’s often said that it takes a village to raise a child, and through our partnership with 180 Health Partners, ReVIDA is dedicated to helping expecting mothers reclaim their lives from opioid use disorder and protect their child at the same time,” said ReVIDA Recovery® Centers CEO Lee Dilworth.

“180 Health Partners is reducing the number of babies who suffer with NAS through its integrated care model that builds supportive care communities, stabilizes social determinants of health, and fills the gaps in care that substance-exposed mothers often face” said Justin Lanning, 180 Health Partners President and CEO. “We look forward to working with ReVIDA to achieve that goal across Tennessee and southwest Virginia.”
